Hi, I’m Jen. I started pet sitting more than a decade ago as a way to supplement my income as a veterinary assistant putting myself through college. When I started working for a board-certified veterinary behaviorist in 2017, I quickly realized a need for specialized pet care for all kinds of pet families.
Rest is not a reward; it is a requirement.
While traveling away from pets with medical or behavioral special needs can be challenging, I’m here to help.
You deserve to get away, to see family, to attend important events, and to have adventures. You deserve to life your fullest life.
Spending time away from your pets doesn’t mean you love them any less. You’re a dedicated pet parent with a close bond to your creatures, and you need someone who is attentive to their specific needs.
That’s why I only offer specialized petsitting for medical or behavioral special needs, large families or four or more pets, or exotic/mixed species families. I have cared for dogs, cats, pocket pets, the occasional bird, fish, and even a tarantula.
How does specialized pet sitting work?
A minimum of one introductory visit is required for new clients. The cost of introductory visits ($60/hour) is applied as a deposit toward the cost of the total stay.
During these visits, I’ll get to meet your pet(s) and learn about their daily routines, ask questions about feeding, exercise, and enrichment, discuss safety measures and emergency planning, and set a schedule for visits or stays.
I offer drop-in visits $120 per day (federal holidays or observed federal holidays $180/day; I am unavailable the week of Christmas through New Year’s Day). Overnight stays on a case-by-case basis.
Pets with a history of human-directed aggression or serious behavioral disorders must be assessed by a veterinary behavior service or qualified behavior consultant. See our referrals pages for more information.
Pets must not require the use of aversive training devices, such as prong, pinch, shock, or choke collars, during visits.
Flat or martingale collars, harnesses, and properly fitted basket-type muzzles and head halters are acceptable if they can be safely applied by the pet sitter.
Payment is accepted via cash, check, Venmo, and Tap to Pay.
